Overview

According to the Local Council Act No. 15 of 1987, the Baddegama Local Council established on the first day of January 1988 has been meeting the service needs of the people living in an area of ​​112 square kilometers for 32 years.

The Grama Niladhari consists of elected public representatives and permanent staff representing the 19 sub-divided divisions covering all 70 domains.

Public administration, health services, physical planning, roads, land and buildings, and other public utility services are implemented through facility programs. Our aim is to achieve the vision and mission of Baddegama local council.

Annual recurring and capital income from the income received directly from the Baddegama local council area and financial allocations from the provincial council, government and other sources for public administration, health services, physical planning roads and buildings, other public utility services and welfare service facilities. Through these programs, work is being done for the betterment of all the people living in the area.

The detailed instruction sheet and related application forms on the necessary documents and requirements for performing the above services can be obtained from our office.

1. Necessary action will be taken within 01 to 03 days regarding public health and environmental complaints that require immediate action.
2. In relation to the written complaints and requests received regarding the relevant services, a reply letter or the final notification of the actions taken in this regard will be made within 07 days.

  •  Correctly complete the application form related to the services and provide the necessary documents.
  •  Participation in meetings and discussions called by Sabah for the common interests of the jurisdiction.
  • Proper payment of taxes and fees due to the council.
  • Avoiding littering in the environment and rivers.
  • Separate and give things like polythene, plastic and glass.
  • If any construction is done, informing the council about it and getting the relevant approval.
  • Providing support for the protection and maintenance of public properties such as public roads, community halls, cemeteries, playgrounds, children’s parks etc. in the jurisdiction.
  • Protection of street lights in jurisdiction.
